Terrorism Risk: More Coverage, Lower Rates.
- Authors
Marshall, Jeffrey; Heffes, Ellen M.
- Abstract
The article focuses on property terrorism insurance in the United States. It states that almost 60 percent of mid- and large-sized businesses in the U.S. have obtained insurance to cover property terrorism risks during 2005, while the cost of the insurance has dropped 25 percent since 2004. Robert Blumber, a managing director at Marsh Inc.'s North America Property Practice said that businesses in the U.S. have an increased awareness of terrorism among businesses and are using the insurance to address some financial consequences from the risk of terrorism.
