- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of corporate liquidity; the total amount of cash and short term investments held by U.S. companies is at its all time highest level. Corporate liquidity is evaluated in terms of which investments are most popular. Corporate and government bonds, money markets, long-term bonds, and fund products are the primary components. Business enterprises utilize investment policies to schedule their liquidity investments. Benchmarking practices are noted as an effort to maximize returns. Cash forecasting and future liquidity levels are discussed.
