- Abstract
This article throws light on the concept of productivity challenge which is gained through innovation. Jeffrey Immelt of General Electric challenged his company to reduce operating costs by 75 percent, while Ralph Larsen pushed Johnson & Johnson to achieve 50% of revenue from new sources within five years. They represent an widespread push to increase productivity and leverage assets more efficiently. Much of this is being achieved via technological innovation and creating new ways to exploit intellectual property.
