- Abstract
In this paper, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Multiprotocol Label Switching Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE) in Internet Protocol (IP) packet switching networks' recover time was tested and compared. The amount of data lost, in case of the link overload, and failure during that time were compared as well. In addition to that, sending mission critical data without any lost during link overload was also studied. As a result of this study, it was shown that MPLS-FRR and other proposed protocols should be higly recommended on todays' Networks, that is carrying all kinds of critical and non-critical data. Our motivation is to observe and measure real network environment performance of MPLS-FRR and other proposed protocols by using telco-grade devices with high throughput capacity.
