- Title
GABON: Special Economic Zone.
- Abstract
The article reports on the launch of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Nkok by Gabon, situated 27 kilometers (km) south of Libreville, which is to be primarily dedicated to timber processing. The project was initiated in July 2010 by President Ali Bongo Ondimba and will be completed in 2012. Tax exemptions and facilitation of administrative procedures are cited as advantages of the SEZ to investors. Nkok is reportedly attracting interest from other manufacturing segments aside from timber.
