- Abstract
The article reports on the building of hotels in Seychelles to boost tourism revenues for the Indian Ocean archipelago. It is said that the islands are relying heavily on the tourist trade, receiving a record of 140,627 people in 2006. It is also said that half of the new hotels will be large 3-, 4-, 5-star properties, while the rest will be smaller establishments. It is stated that construction of a 1.3 billion dollar luxury tourism complex is just one of some 20 similar investment projects slated for coming years.
