- Abstract
The article discusses historical interpretation and programs for visitors at the Richmond National Battlefield Park in Virginia. Emphasis is given to the incorporation of women's history and gender into site tours, historical re-creations, culture and preservation programs, and interpretive media. Other topics include gender roles in the U.S. Civil War, the 1863 Bread Riot in Richmond, Virginia, and conceptions of masculinity.
