- Abstract
The author explores issues relating to the authentication and ownership of works by the late American pop artist Andy Warhol. Particular focus is given to the early 2012 closing of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which resulted in the sale of a collection of over 20,000 works of art by Warhol. Details relating to the lucrative licensing strategies of the Warhol Foundation are also discussed, particularly one involving the Campbell's Soup Company where they released 1.2 million "limited edition" soup cans inspired by Warhol's designs.
