- Abstract
The article discusses a study on short-tailed bandicoot rat, house mouse and metal or soft-figured field rat conducted on a 100-acre block of wheat-sugarcane based cropland of central Punjab, Pakistan. It further documents information on the seasonal changes in the rates of reproduction of the 4 rat population. It cites the scrublands that occur in the middle of the croplands that are favoured by the Indian gerbil and the field mouse. It suggests the reduction of the carrying capacity of the agrosystem for the murid populations under consideration in order to deprive rodents of the food and shelter and make them more vulnerable to predation and the elements.
