The article presents a brief biography of the 19th century Jewish American businessman Jacob Rich of San Jose, California. Details are given reviewing several periods of Rich's life and his accomplishments, including his immigration to the U.S. from Poland in 1851, his business operations as a street car manager, and his active involvement in several social organizations including the Freemasons, B'nai B'rith, and the Congregation Emanu-El.
