- Title
THE LEVYS: FATHER AND SON, ABRAHAM AND JOE, THE COMPASSIONATE BANKERS OF VENTURA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.
- Authors
Kern, Linda
- Abstract
The article features Abraham "Achille" Levy and his son Joe, Jewish bankers in Ventura County, California. The older Levy, who founded the Bank of A. Levy, was born on October 23, 1853 in a small village in France while the young Levy, who took over the presidency of the bank after his father's death, was born on December 29, 1886. The author claims that both bankers practiced a personal approach to their business by prioritizing the welfare of their customers and employees. Moreover, the bank showed growth when Bud Milligan, the grandson of Abraham Levy, took over the bank and installed the first automated teller in the county.
