- Abstract
The article focuses on a news story featured in the March 1, 1852 issue of the "Alta California" which was about two Americans who were hung by the people at Murphy-I's Diggings, Calaveras County for stealing Jews' properties. The two Americans were suspected to be the ones who stole animals, money and other articles owned by the Jews. The details of how they stole the said articles are discussed. They were captured by the sheriff and were tried before a jury of the miners. The two Americans were found guilty and were sentenced to be hung.
