- Abstract
Cameroon is facing an increase in cases of river blindness, a parasitic disease caused by infected blackflies. Despite efforts to control the disease, confirmed cases are still present in many health districts, particularly in remote villages where access to healthcare is limited. The government of Cameroon is taking action by dispatching aid workers to educate people about the disease and partnering with organizations to accelerate treatment. River blindness is a serious public health concern in many countries, and further investment is needed to eliminate the disease as a public health problem.
