The author focuses on the need of improved procedural safeguards for government access of electronic data during criminal investigation in the U.S. Topics discussed include the Petraeus scandal involving former director of the Central Intelligence Agency David Petraeus, and privacy concerns related to government's access of electronic data. It suggests statutory solutions that the U.S Congress should apply to improve regulation of government surveillance.
