- Title
Cursing under a Star-Dogged Moon: Why the Legal Regime Concerning the Recovery of Ancient or Historic Vessels Must Change.
- Authors
BEREN SEGARRA, JONATHAN JOSEPH
- Abstract
The article discusses the law of salvage and the law of finds in response to archaeological and cultural preservation and recovery of ancient shipwrecks. It informs that despite the fact that the law of finds supersedes the law of salvage however the law of finds alone cannot handle the issues related to recovery of ancient or historic shipwrecks. It also discusses the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit case of R.M.S. Titanic, Inc. v. The Wrecked and Abandoned Vessel.
