- Abstract
The article focuses on the benefits and risk of using psychotropic agents in treating patients with attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD). It cites the benefits of stimulants to hyperactive patients which include improvement in their capacity to absorb information and development of self esteem. It explores the results of a study on the effect of methylphenidate on neuronal activity in the prefrontal cortex. The author emphasizes the potential safety of ADHD medications in terms of abuse and medical health.
