- Abstract
The number of materials used in the manufacture of fixed dentures has risen sharply in recent years. In particular, the CAD/CAM-based manufacture of monolithic restorations is the focus of interest. In particular, monolithic restorations made of reinforced glassceramics and zirconium oxide ceramics are backed by clinical studies. In contrast, only limited clinical data are available for polymer-ceramic composites. For the hybrid ceramic VITA Enamic, data are available for single-tooth restorations from clinical studies. The first results with Lava Ultimate are available for the group of in dustrially polymerized high-performance composites. The luting strategy seems to be particularly relevant for the long-term clinical success of this material.
