- Abstract
Presents an interview with Cornel West, leading public intellectual in the U.S. When asked about his role in the emergence of the so-called black public intellectuals between 1963 and 1993, he referred to the structural transformation that is triggered by de-industrialization and resulted to the dispersion and scattering of the communities. Moreover, West added that the life of the mind is a life of exploring different views and opinions that is accompanied by exhilarating joy.
