- Abstract
The article focuses on the Co-Scribe of MS Hunter 197, by Geoffrey Spirleng, and the common clerks of Norwich organized the Old Free Book by occupation. It mentions that Geoffrey Spirleng omitted information from the Old Free Book about the apprenticeship links of some men and trust and responsibility placed upon him to maintain accurate civic documents. It also mentions that omission of apprenticeship references for over a decade seems to confirm this change of record-keeping policy.
