- Abstract
The article presents a study on the production of 3-hydroxypropionaldehyde (3-HPA) in silage inoculated with Lactobacillus coryniformis strain 394. It notes that a modified colorimetric method was used to determine a 3-HPA-like component (HLC) that was assumed to be 3-HPA. It concludes that the production of 3-HPA by Lactobacillus coryniformis 394 is useful in ensiling and that modified colorimetric method is effective in detecting 3-HPA in silage.
