- Authors
Jago, Carol
- Abstract
The article offers tips for schools to help students to engage in good-enough reading. It suggests that readers should have knowledge in vocabulary to enable them to understand what they are reading. It recommends that schools could provide more informational texts in the elementary school curriculum and make sure that content area teachers allocate time for subject-specific vocabulary study. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of being honest with students that the assigned reading might be difficult and needs rereading and notetaking.
