ISO 9000 Becoming a Key to Process Improvement.
- Abstract
Facing increasing competition from abroad, the U.S. businesses continue to turn to process improvement to boost the quality of their products and services and raise their market share, according to a new survey released by the University of Florida. The survey found that ISO 9000 registration is one key to process improvement. Thirty six percent respondents are ISO 9000 registered and 39 percent are preparing for registration. Just over 40 percent of companies have an internal program based on a quality award, such as the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
