- Abstract
Focuses on nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) in the physiological processes leading to crop growth. Biochemical compounds in plants that support development containing N and/or P; Role of N and/or P in crop and seed yield; View that considerable research needs to be focused on whole-plant processes in legumes that lead to enhanced symbiotic N fixation; Findings suggesting an aspect of increased legume production will be improved management of P to allow legumes to achieve high N fixation rates and yields.
