- Abstract
The article discusses a study on parental perceptions of elevated adiposity in children based on dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) measurements conducted in New Zealand. The weight, height, body mass index (BMI) and waist girths of the children were recorded. It found that parents underestimated the weight status of their children. BMI values at or above 85th percentile indicates high body fat.
