- Abstract
The article discusses the role and the concepts of the commons with regard to Huaorani Indians of Amazonian Ecuador. The author has referred to the commons as the various resources that human being hold in common that are essential to their survival. In the Amazon, these resources are held in commons because of difficulty of dividing into smaller pieces and the cost of excluding potential users. However, sociality and cultural values, promote communal management of resources.
