- Abstract
The article offers information on the report issued by U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy's Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee regarding Reading First, a multi-billion-dollar literacy program adopted as part of No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The report outlines the financial connections between the advisors of the said program as well as its publishers. Particularly, the report highlights the four contractors who collected thousands of dollar while helping the states choose the reading program.
