- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 91-year-old woman presented with low haemoglobin level and history of melaena. The patient had previous diagnosis of type 2A von Willebrand disease (VWD) following extensive bleeding after tooth extraction. A quantitative antibody detection was attempted in view of extremely unusual occurrence of inhibitors. A home-based ELISA was repeated after fixing recombinant human factor VIII to the plates and showed the presence of high-titre antibodies.
