- Abstract
The text is a comment on an article titled "A Historical Perspective of the Evolution of Laparoscopic Surgeries in Urology" by Soputro et al. The commenter congratulates the authors for their article but points out that they failed to mention the first laparoscopic operative procedure in urology, which was the laparoscopic varicocelectomy published in 1988. The commenter explains that this procedure became the preferred choice for adolescents and was one of the most performed laparoscopic surgeries in urology at the time. They also mention that they presented the technique in 1986 but faced criticism and did not publish it until 1988. The commenter concludes by stating that this technique showed that urological surgery could be done in a different way.
