Employer-supported childcare in the U.S. has increasingly come to be considered as a permanent feature of indirect compensation benefit packages in the workplace. The author of this article reports the results of her study designed to investigate the effects of this benefit. She finds that onsite employer-supported childcare services reduced absenteeism and increased job retention for those employees who use the service.
