- Abstract
Improving environmental performance and focusing the company's efforts to fulfil the environmental objectives and programs have been materialized most often in the implementation of an EMS. Moreover, such a judgment is recognized as an action that produces significant changes on an organization. The purpose of this research is to identify the main organizational components who are suffering changes because of implementing EMS. If, worldwide, there are numerous studies that determine the changes an EMS implementation produces, in Romania they were not undertaken such researches. This article aims to review the way in which the components of an organization of local environment are suffering amendments as a result of such a process. The study undertaken reveals that in the case of 4 and 5 star hotels in Romania, all organizational variables have undergone changes by implementing EMS regardless of the length of time during which the implementation has been achieved and pay more attention in identifying and monitoring environmental risks. It also highlights the fact that the tasks of employees have increased, even if they were not extra remunerated for the new environmental duties.
