- Abstract
This article, titled "One Surgeon's Experience During Armed Conflict in Ukraine," recounts the personal experiences of a surgeon working in a hospital near Kharkov during the war in Ukraine. The surgeon describes the challenges faced in providing medical care during the conflict, including a shortage of medical personnel, materials, and painkillers. The hospital was unprepared to handle the large number of injured patients, and the surgeon had to work long hours without staff rotation. The article also highlights the resilience and resourcefulness of the surgeon and the patients, as they adapted to the difficult conditions and provided care to each other. The surgeon shares the emotional toll of the war, including the loss of patients and the constant fear for their own safety. Despite the ongoing rocket attacks and uncertainty about the future, the surgeon remains hopeful and shares their story to inspire others in similar situations.
