Advantages of evidence-based medicine would mean improved quality of patient care, help to contain costs, and reduce disputes over health insurance coverage; Courts need to determine policy for use of medical evidence; Ruling makes judges gatekeepers to ensure the reliability and relevance of scientific expert testimony; Need for cost-effectiveness studies.
