- Abstract
The text elucidates on the reduction of waste in production processes, focusing on the case of digitizing work instructions in a company in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM). With regard to methodological procedures, the study is bibliographic, exploratory and explanatory, with the case study as a structuring axis. The results were perceived by comparing the scenarios before and after the implementation of the suggested improvements. It is inferred that before digitizing the work instructions, several failures were identified in the factory where the study was developed. Waste of time and money added to inefficient and time-consuming processes corroborated for a context of non-conformities and production losses. After the implementation of the digitalization of work instructions, there was a reduction in costs, improvement in the creation processes, alteration and approval of documentation and a reduction in defective products were some of the benefits achieved. With the help of monitors, scanners, minicomputers and management systems, the production setup process became more efficient. There was also an improvement in the flow of tasks related to work instructions, which was under the responsibility of the Process Engineering sector. The control of digitalization of instructions in the production process was in charge of the Production department. The study concludes that the work instructions digitalization project generated operational and financial advantages, results that justify the solution of problems in the light of continuous improvement and the search for excellence in manufacturing processes.
