The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court case Air Wisconsin Airlines v Hoeper, wherein pilot William Hoeper sued Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp. (AWA) for defamation and damages. An overview of the case as a result from Hoeper's dismissal from AWA due to mental instability is provided. The court examined the scope of the civil immunity provided to airlines and their employees under the Aviation Terrorism Reporting Statute (ASTA).
