The article discusses concerns related to immigration removal system. It informs that mental illness in removal proceedings mainly focused increasing procedural safeguards. It emphasizes cross examination of witnesses, appointing guardians ad litem, and providing training to immigration judges on mental health symptoms for removal proceedings. It informs about the U.S. Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) decision in Matter of M-A-M- case, regarding treatment of mentally ill individuals.
