- Abstract
The article focuses on the study conducted by Shinya Yamanaka and colleagues regarding the formation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from mouse or human fibroblasts. According to the author, the study conducted provides striking information because it can decrease the required reprogramming process of the action on the genes as well as on human cells. It has also successfully applied the same protocol in the original mouse experiments on fetal and adult human fibroblasts and does not necessitate the use of c-Myc oncogene. The author stresses that the study does not provide a clear implication, however, it could predict that postnatal cells were not completely reprogrammed.
