- Abstract
The article highlights a study which examined the culture performance of mixed-sex and monosex tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus. The fish were cultured in underground brackish water in three earthen ponds, at Biosaline Research Station in Pakka Anna, Pakistan. Supplemental feed used during the culture were salt-tolerant fresh biomass of Leptochloa fusca, Kochia indica and Brachiaria mutica. Results of the study revealed that the tilapia was well adapted to saline environment. Culture of male tilapia resulted to a major increase in fish production.
