- Title
Self-Esteem and Hopelessness Levels of Grade-Passing and Class-Repeating Students.
- Authors
Sezer, Özcan
- Abstract
The article advocates the use of individualized instruction to making students repeat the same class or grade level. As a result of a research conducted by the author, the positive correlation between self-esteem level and academic performance was illustrated. The author suggests the use of a new curriculum, restructuring of the school, individualized instruction and guidance counseling to help students fulfill their potentials instead of making them feel displaced as a result of repeating a grade level.
