- Abstract
The article discusses a study to investigate that the preoperative radiation therapy (RT) at the time of neck dissection decreases the lymph node (LN) yield. Patients with tonsil, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and laryngeal primary lesions were studied and neck dissection was performed. A significant decrease in LN harvest is seen in patients who received preoperative RT prior to neck dissection.
