- Abstract
A recent study on analgesia during labor has highlighted the potential for misinformation to mislead women and limit access to pain relief. The study raises concerns about the information available to expectant mothers beyond reputable pregnancy websites and popular search engine results. The study tested five AI chatbots by asking them to create a birth plan for a first-time mother. The results showed that the chatbots provided insufficient information about analgesic options and did not mention patient-controlled analgesia. The study emphasizes the need for egalitarian patient information that is not influenced by biases in AI programming.
