Title
Glass cartel smashes price-fixing record.
Abstract
The article reports that an automotive glass cartel has been fined €1.38 billion, which is considered the European Union's (EU) largest ever price-fixing penalty. The four-company cartel of Saint-Gobain, Pilkington, Asahi Glass and Soliver met at hotels and airports across Europe and controlled 90% of the European automotive glass market for five years. Saint Gobain's fine of €896 million is the largest single company fine in the European Union's history.
