- Abstract
Objective: To discuss the function of moxibustion combined with TCM directed drug import therapy in rehabilitation of post off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. Methods: Researchers retrospectively analyzed the rehabilitation data of 60 patients who had undergone OPCAB therapy from January 2015 to December 2016 in the cardiothoracic surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moreover, it compared the patients' condition in two hours after extubation, one week after the surgery and before hospital discharge through Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) and Short Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36), developed by the USA Institute of Medicine. Results: Comparison of SAQ and SF-36 score between the two groups in the same time-frame after surgery indicated that the differences were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Moreover, the SAQ and SF-36 score of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group in the period from one week after the surgery to hospital discharge (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Moxibustion combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and directed drug import therapy has an advantage compared with routine aftercare. Further research on this intervention is necessary.
