- Abstract
The article discusses the use of superabsorbent hydrogels such as hydrophilic polymers for efficient biocontrol of root knot nematodes in tomato nursery. It notes that hydrophilic polymers are effective in increasing the water holding capacity, decreasing deep percolation, and reducing evaporation losses in sandy soils. It also compares two types of hydrogels, one at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi, India and a commercial type that is known for greater capacities.
