- Abstract
The article offers suggestions on the importance of books in teaching children to appreciate the nature. The author has also suggested two books including "In the Woods: Who's Been Here?," by Lindsay Barrett George and "The Woods Scientist," by Stephen R. Swinburne, that would encourage students to experience the excitement in the local ecosystem and develop their skills of observing nature. It is stated that the growing popularity of the video games, mp3 players, and other electronics are alienating children from the nature. INSETS: For Grades K-3: Who's Been Here?;For Grades 4-6: The Woods Scientist.
