- Abstract
The article discusses an analysis based on a context-dependent aesthetics of mariachi music in Los Angeles, California. It is stated that the mariachi music has become an important focus of ethnic identification for both Mexicanos and Chicanos which has also become an important experience for the non-Latino community. It is noted that the aesthetic of mariachi music performance is linked to context and performance style.
