- Abstract
The winner of the "Psychology ∓ Marketing" award for the Best Television Commercial of the Year for 1986 is the California Raisin Advisory Board and its advertising agency, Foote Cone and Belding, San Francisco. The commercial featured 30 seconds of finger-snapping, white-gloved, cool raisins strutting their stuff to the tune of Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine." Readers praised the commercial for its appropriate use of 60's music, for its attention-getting and attention-sustaining ability and its ability to bring raisins to top-of-mind awareness.
