- Abstract
The article focuses on the La Sylphide, one of the ballet dance appearance of famous ballerina Marie Taglioni in Saint Petersburg, Russia which was held on September 6, 1836. The author described Taglioni's performance as the ideal of grace, the ideal of dance, and the ideal of pantomime. He added that, her smallest movements and pose produced the loveliest delight. In her third appearance to ballet dancing, she eventually became the favorite of the public.
