- Title
(1750) Proposal to reject the name Euphorbia longifolia (Euphorbiaceae).
- Authors
Whitehouse, Christopher M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the rejection of the name Euphorbia longifolia to be applied for a taxon grown in the Jardin du Roi, Paris. The rejection has allegedly been resorted after considering the fact that the first mention of the name E. longifolia was in a list of Russian plants during 1787. The name has likewise become synonymous to Boissier's new species E. leptocaula and Baillon's herbarium sheet. If renamed, accordingly, it would add confusion in the field of horticulture.
