- Title
The ‘look’ and how to keep it: cinematography, postproduction and digital colour.
- Authors
Misek, Richard
- Abstract
The article discusses color as the focal point of a renegotiation of the historical roles of the production and postproduction sectors of the film industry in the U.S. It says that the look of a film is no longer made during production because primary color grading is now performed digitally, wherein color balance can be adjusted without restrictions. The author adds that primary grading changes the color balance of a whole shot while secondary grading allows particular areas of the frame and color values to be changed in isolation.
