- Abstract
The article discusses the study which examines the anti-protozoal activity of flavonoids to test the derivatives of natural and synthetic sources. The study isolated a number of flavonoids from Neoraputia paraensis, N. campestris, and Lonchocarpus montanus. The study developed an assay with KB cells to compare flavonoids' in-vitro cytotoxicity with selective action on the parasites. Results show that dibenzoylmethanes represent a tested compounds as trypanocidal and antimalarial agents.
